Introduction #
In order to create Short Descriptions for each product, we’ve developed a formula to be used in Excel that will join all the Custom Meta Data into a cohesive sentence that can be bulk applied and set.
Formula #
This formula is a simple concatenate formula that combines text-string with hard cell reference data. You will need to ensure that all cell references make sense and are correct across all products.

With a Plank Length of "&CC2&"mm and a coverage of "&CG2&"m2 per box, the "&D2&" is a great DIY choice!”For instance, you’ll need to ensure that the Column D2 contains the Name data, and Column AS contains the Brand Name data. When you’ve aligned the cell references correctly, then the formula is good to apply!
Suggested Process #
This formula would be used when creating new products in bulk. We suggest using this formula after the attributes have been set and completely filled. This will ensure that the formula returns data and results in a full description.
It is also suggested that you paste the formula in the Short Description field of the first product you’re adding. Modify and ensure that the formula returns the correct data, then copy it to the rest of the new products – edit once, apply multiple.
